the way older academics talk about at home/independent learning disturbs me. they seem to ignore some of us work better by ourselves and at our own pace. supposedly we're becoming "antisocial" while we try to play to our natural strengths and ways of thinking.
video lectures are so helpful. you can pause, make notes, process the concepts mentioned without missing out on the next thing. if you can only focus on one thing at a time (let's say, you're autistic) you can filter background noise. it has made such a difference in my learning.
Covid made totally online school the norm. What a gift.
