i've been trying to attack stuff smartly and just. Dying. So much

that is to say i got killed by some flamethrower in an underground maze thing full of gargoyles

and also while i was trying to take on a whole garrison by myself lmao

the flamethrower... there was a tip on the ground for me, you can disable it with a bow. if you have a bow... but yeah it's a lot of dying

i have arrows, i will work on acquiring a bow

i need a map, or to figure out how to open it

you get more of the map as you go around, but you should be able to see how to open it from the keybinds setting

b, i just spent the last several hours trying to kill everyone in Gatefront and dying so much but i managed to just fucking dash in and get the damn fragment

so now i'm going to go track down other fragments instead of bashing my head against this place

also of note. Sometimes you'll hear voices calling to you and those can be side quests.

(one of them is a bush. That one I probably would not have figured out on my own.)

i found the bush, i only figured it out because someone left a message telling me to roll at it

that's who i was yelling about thinking he wanted me to go underwater

the beaches freak me out with those tentacle critters

the notes are sometimes insanely useful

i also accidentally stabbed him lmao. so i guess you could kill him if you wanted and end that side quest immediately

but also these side quests are side quests LINES which pick up in different zones so I've heard some of them are worth doing properly.

you can stab merchants too (don't stab the one at the church one, he's cool)

i will only stab merchants if they're extra rude to me

(I have not tried to leave Limngrave, ftr. I want to explore the entire zone before I move on but I don't often log into the game.)

i am trying to take my time as well but i need runes to level up, so

exploration it is

I was like. /kill an easy mob. go touch grace. go kill the same easy mob...

also some of the skulls you can kick around bring runes if you break them.

...maybe i will go back to Gatetown and work on killing the guards repeatedly, they gave good exp

i have also found a great way of killing a horseback enemy (as long as a second one doesn't attack me in the middle of it)

i have a halberd as well as a sword, and i swap between them depending on what i'm fighting

if i have the halberd out i can attack the horse before the rider can get me

if i just attack them repeatedly before the horse can recover i can kill them in about 5-8 hits

if i fuck up i usually die but y'know

/levels up a little, wanders into a fortress just to see what they have
