During covid, the unemployment payment was raised here. People came out of poverty. Outcomes improved. People found jobs despite the economic climate. Mental health improved. And as soon as they dropped it back to 1/3 of the Henderson line, they were surprised that people got worse off for some reason.
Idk why when people say "They'll be lazy if we just pay them" nobody considers "we could try it and just have eligibility requirements if we're that worried about it"
Most people... get bored. They recover from burnout and then they start looking for ways to join in. I would volunteer if there was something nearby that I could get into.
