I will say this first and foremost, yes. I liked the ending. I thought thematically and as far as character arcs went, it fits.

The Hargreeves have all been incredibly selfish people through the series and in the end, they save the entire whole of creation with a selfless act.

But yes. I liked how it ended. They had 6 episodes to do it and they did it.

I think people comparing it to the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina really didn't get why that show's ending sucked.

We had hints since season 1 it was the family who was the problem. That they were the ones that were the issue.

Sabrina having to die was never hinted at until the last really terrible season.

In the end, I'm satisfied with the ending of the Umbrella Academy and I will do a whole series rewatch at some point.

I will now finally watch the videos from people who did not like the ending to see why they didn't.

They did a good job with the amount of episodes they had but I do wish they had a couple more episodes just to kinda let some of the beats breathe a bit more. But that's more a personal preference thing, there was just a lot of big story stuff per episode to react to.
