We met a few times, I met the other roommate, our dogs met, and it seemed to be going well. I paid part of the deposit after the last time we met up so she would feel comfortable asking the second problematic roommate to leave.

We agreed on when I would pay the rest of the deposit, and said goodbyes until then. We even texted a few times about how great it was that things seemed to be working out. But then she texted me asking to follow up about the deposit, so I called her and had to reassure her I am still going to pay it then and move in like we agreed.

The whole interaction was a bit off.

Back when we first met, she emailed me a generic rental application and lease. I signed the lease, and sent it back, but I did half the application and forgot to come back to it. Today she texted wanting it by the end of the day, which is fine, but weird that she didn't care about it before and I've already paid some deposit.

I paid through venmo though so at least I can get my money back
