old or newer covid test? it might not catch the new strain?

I don't know your weather, but I always feel awful this time when the weather fluculates wildly
the home rapid tests don't turn positive til you have a lot of virus in your nose, which for a lot of people, doesn't happen til you've been symptomatic for days. Test again every two days and chances are it till turn positive. There's a new variant that is somehow MORE contagious than the old super contagious ones and it's causing a huge wave worldwide
