tbh the more we hear from lorenzo di bonaventura the more I'm not sure that he's actually relating his actual beliefs about the movies, and for that matter, that he actually pays enough attention to the content of the movies to have actual beliefs about them

yeah I'm simplifying because I have other stuff to do today besides explain in detail my sorta-joking-sorta-not hypothesis about the inner workings of the mind of a guy whose role I barely know

I dunno, Andy. I look at the older movies and while they are characters, aside from ROTB it’s not really ABOUT the TFs. Even Bumblebee has the character sort of becoming a pet or sidekick

yeah like tbh RotB is the only TF live action movie that is predominantly about the TFs with the humans getting pulled into the TF plot and having to help save their planet from TF-related drama. The humans are very important, but honestly they exist to help us better relate TO the TFs and going "oh look they are more alike than they are different!"

but rotb is the movie where we get them shown like...regularly interacting with each other and it not being about humans.

and yet people complained about that so you can't win for losing really
