Because this is always interesting.
HEATHER MASON is nonbinary and bisexual.
SH3 has some really interesting stuff going on with gender, and her relationship with womanhood is extremely fraught due to shit that requires a billion content warnings (I won't get into detail, but to make a long story short Heather has a lot of very gendered sexual trauma).
How aware she even is of her own gender/sexuality depends a lot on where she's at in individual settings-- she has to overcome quite a lot of trauma to even start thinking about EITHER, especially the bisexuality.
So much of her trauma came from women that it usually takes some prodding for her to figure out that she is in fact attracted to them, whereas with men she has some comphet (and more positive associations to combat the negative ones) going on so she takes that for granted.
(Being in a relationship with Envy in VR has been GREAT for her because they get to Do Gender Weird and be silly about it which is the IDEAL for her)
WRATH is ???? and ASEXUAL
Obviously he is. A child. He doesn't know what all that nonsense is about and even when he inevitably learns about it at some point I really can't see him feeling much of a way about it other than "huh. sounds fake."
Gender-wise, I don't think he'd necessarily LIKE being referred to as a girl, but also he doesn't really?? Attach any particular importance to being a boy? He's just a funky little critter doing his own thing, do you want to throw rocks into the river with him or not.
I do play/write him, at least post-CoS, as having kind of the stirrings of a puppy crush on Alphonse, BUT he would not be able to identify it as that if you asked him, and he's just so stunted that I really don't see romance as being much of possibility for him. So, asexual and gray-aro at most.
He's still untangling his extremely troubled understanding of friendship and family, miss him with all that other stuff.
JAMES SUNDERLAND is hopelessly cis and like 95% hetero... but in writing him as a post-Leave Ending guy who is trying desperately not to succumb to the urge to drive into a lake, I think he's so starved for intimacy that if a man showed him genuine affection, he would crumple like a styrofoam cup.
GREED (03) is cis but manages to bring big drag energy to it??? and enthusiastically pan.
Are you capable of consent? Are you consenting right now? COOL LET'S BOOGIE.
He does primarily perform interest in women because it ties into his shtick of coveting and objectifying people as possessions, but I think behind his big flashy gimmick he doesn't actually have a preference.
one sided alwrath is so real
I keep saying, I'm devastated that they didn't take advantage of the opportunity to make Al and Wrath a direct parallel to Ed and Alfons
have the double "Elric sibling is too single-minded and detached from the world around them to notice person who is Right There And Likes Them A Lot" going on
Ooh, good point about James
