I get my wegovy for free. My doc gave a coupon for 1 year for $0

Mounjaro has a patient assistance program that reduces cost to $25/month and it is available, if I remember right, up to 400% of poverty. I just researched the programs for a friend last month.

aliciachenaux: yes even for diabetes from what my doctor said.

lunajubilee: I can ask my doctor if she has something like that, not sure.

CajsaLilliehook: I was looking into their program, from what I understand the 25 dollars is only if your insurance covers it.

Hopefully I’m able to figure something out. I’m already seeing it work and I just started. If not I will try to get as much off as I can to jump start my overall loss.

The eligibility filter doesn't say that..

CajsaLilliehook: I would have to look into it more. I was reading some of the fine print about eligibility. Luckily I have a few months to see if I can figure things out.

Are you getting the drug from primary care or a weightloss doc?
Luna.Kate

My plan would not cover it if I went through my primary care physician. However, it does cover if I go through a weight loss program and show prior to starting the program that I had at least six months of attempting weight loss

So when my coupon ends I’ll pay $400/month for the drug - unless she gives me a new coupon or go to a different drug. At this point I’m dependent on the drug bc if the other ailments have been minimized or corrected

So basically, I’m saying if your doctor can make a case that you’re dependent on the drug because of x health factors your insurance should be able approve coverage.

lunajubilee: I’m through my primary doctor and I have type two diabetes, overweight and have high blood pressure. These are the very reasons to take the med. I will see her tomorrow when I take my kid in for an appointment and see what she says then. She told my husband at his appointment today and he doesn’t really ask questions

Ohhh then this could be a non-issue.

lunajubilee: For me it will be, She put it in for diabetes to make sure they would cover it and I'm guessing she got notice that this will be changing next year. I hate insurance so freaking much. If they would just put this drug out as a generic so many would get it covered by insurance more easily.

That is WILD to me that they wouldn't cover it for diabetes.

aliciachenaux: right? I'm the walking poster child for what this med was created for diabetic, fat and have other illness that are linked to weight. I bet you however they will raise our premiums again this year though.

Premiums always go up. Thats just want happened. Hopefully a small increase. I’ve worked with benefit admin and architecture for decades at this point in my career. Not once have I seen it go down or even flat. Always a teeny tiny increase or whopping jumps. It’s disgusting

lunajubilee: We had a big increase last year. My husband pays about 400 a month and that is just his 20% share, his work covers the other 80%. So its freaking ridiculous what they get per month for just one person. So the 5% raise my husband got was mute

I also talked to my doctor, she said that they did get notice that next year my insurance will no longer cover any drug of that kind. She said but we will see and figure things out. I really dont understand since you could only get it if you met strict criteria to begin with
