even aside from the weird uncanny valley type appearances

emus have won wars they're not to be taken lightly

like, joking aside, all the birds in that family are huge, fast, and strong. caution is reasonable.

also i'm scared of geese so i can't judge

and i am terrified of seagulls but i lived in aberdeen for four years so that one's rational

i'm really scared of parrots, the macaws for example can kill

like i like looking at them but i am NOT going near them or touching them or putting a finger anywhere near one

not a bird but I really, really don't like rats or opossums. like I'm not afraid of them they just freak me out. but Derek loves both of them a lot so I have to see pictures of them them a bunch
