I'm sitting back during rehearsal watching two of our leads sing "Who Wants To Live Forever." Beautiful song, as anyone who has heard it will attest. So I turn to one of my cast-mates and say "Man, I love this song. One of the best parts of the movie, too." And he turns to me and asks, "What movie?"

I look at him blankly for a beat and go, "Um... Highlander, of course."

"Sorry, never seen it."

I'm about to launch into the usual "How-could-you-not-know-about..." geekery until I remember one key detail: my cast-mate is 21.

Exacerangutan: Not this time. There are other bits of geekery that we have in common (and not just theatrical things). And he's a cool guy, just... so young.

my sister is only 6 years younger than me, and the venn diagram of "we grew up with all the same stuff and are on the same page" vs. "how have you never heard of [ ]" is wild.
