WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE splat
Geez, but everyone just. What a struggle. This genre is just Struggling
Meanwhile for BDO, players are calling for new leadership.
But in a "you've clearly run out of ideas, let someone else have a go"
I mean, 10 years is a long run!
for ffxiv at least, we had a surge of membership as we always do at the start of a new expac and then everyone abandons the game
this is normal for us lol
Yeah, I recall from the time I tried it out
What a rollercoaster though
I understand why they do a sub model
Also, I am uncertain, but I believe these numbers are specific to NA
I am not sure if they include other regions
So it doesn't reflect EU numbers, or any other region since some games don't have servers in other regions that other games do
Like BDO has Asia (Southeast Asia, specifically). But I don't think FF14 does
ffxiv has EU servers, a Japan server, and one in Australia
but they're all like... i can make a character in any of them right now if i wanted to
and i can actually port my NA character over to the OCE servers for a visit and then bring him back, so it's a bit different
Yeah, that's completely different
theme park actually refers to the more linear nature of them
the MMO is a model for delivering content to you that they want you to do rather than a more open-ended sandbox model
and thus, once this content is consumed, the players leave the "theme park" until there's more rides
steadily on the bottom forever
omg the little uptick for the new expac...bless
i feel like the dip also is more people going back to school etc
oh steam player count? gw2 probably higher than that then
Yeah, BDO is in the same boat. I'm a launcher player, not a Steam player.
So ignoring the exact numbers, it's more just a pattern of fluctuation
but lol those theme park types look like a wild ride
