Reminiscent of anondrogynous's bank problem: Right when I was about to leave the country for good, I was already at the airport and just remembered to cancel my Globe line. Called them. Same multiple "are you suuuuure?" attempts.

Then they randomly asked if they could speak to my mom, to which I gladly obliged cuz she was right beside me. And then they still tried to get me to reconsider. I was already boarding and just told them ok bye.

Retention policy. There are valid reasons that a cancelling end-user isn't worth saving e.g. Leaving the country forever or death. Common sense isn't so common I'm afraid.

Nung nasa call-center pa ko, we were required talaga to try and dissuade someone from cancelling. Parang dapat at least 3x iirc, kasi kung hindi, di ba may calls na kinuQA? Minus points yun.

So... long story short, that sort of thing is probably just company policy :-&

I do hope it's just that. I do hope it's not the agent that gets in trouble if you cancel. Some companies are shitty like that. Not that there's much we can do about it.
