[D&D; Not At All Evil, Promise] Well, I certainly didn't have "Tiefling Warlock with Succubus Mom is party's moral compass" on my Bingo card, but there you go...
A rare Wednesday night off from rehearsal enabled me to take part in my semi-weekly Wednesday game which was starting a new campaign after the TPK at the hands of the Frost Giants last month.
I ported over my character from the short-lived game run by Headphonemike a few years ago. Yverazen is a Tiefling warlock whose Patron is the Queen of the Succubi - and also happens to be her mother. She has... plans for the world.
We were smack dab in the middle of the classic trope of "the monster we were hired to hunt is not evil, but the old man who hired us probably is." Yet when faced with the new facts, the Inquisitor Priest insisted that because he gave his word to the old man, we have to kill the "monster."
After talking them down, we're going back to the village to have a chat with the old man. And maybe kill him instead. Because that's how these things go.
