your characters in general have a tendency to be like "actually I did do all of those horrible things (and hate myself about it)" and I'm not sure if you just pick depressing canons with no positive outcomes or just the characters that make those specific choices

but in most of them there's more of a mix, because the scope is so broad and shit has been going on for so long. Like yeah the Doctor sure did destroy that planet, but also saved a bunch of other ones, etc

Yes Jean did eat that sun but she DID save the universe first; yes Madelyne did send NYC to Hell a couple times

And Then There's EXU Calamity

which is entirely about how these characters fucked up so bad the apocalypse happened

(they also managed to save a lot of people and mitigate the longterm damage! but most of them still died horribly and the world's gonna suck haaaard for a few hundred years)

unfortunately, I have actually read the Inferno arc and 80s Claremont, but I can at least try to osmose what Maddie is up to now

I'm assuming that with Jean, what she's up to are the perpetual Jean problems of "what codename will we use" and "maybe this will be her iconic costume??"

Jean has indeed gone through like five costumes in the last few years
