My apricot has heeeeaps of new leaf growth, but doesn't seem to have any flower buds but that's pretty normal for a young tree, esp when just having moved it into a bigger container
My figs have new leaves on them, as do my raspberries and blueberries, my goji berry is waking up from winter and has new leaves too though it's still itty bitty
Passion fruit is dead, rip, done in by the wellington wind. Going to replace it with a capsicum probably.
The strawberries have heaps of fruit on them, who knows whether they'll get to the point of being edible though with how the weather has been. But it makes me happy just seeing them grow so I remain convinced that despite best practice being to remove the out of season flowers, keeping them is best for me
My potatoes and yacon are poking up through the soil, in a couple of weeks I'll put more soil on my potatoes to encourage more potatoes to grow
Split rock cactus flower has finished and it's slooooowly reabsorbing the flower and its two outer leaves. I have had it for months now and am watching and waiting for the point where I will give it water. It does not drink in winter.
My basil plants may yet go to seed to give me basil next season but if they don't end up doing that I do have some seeds I can use
Cape gooseberries have flowers and capes on them, which is exciting. They are tough little buggers and will be delicious.
I found a slug eating a strawberry on the balcony the other day which is amazing because how the hell did it get there?? It must have come from one of the plants because no way in hell was it climbing up there.
I want to make a bee house (a house for bees, it is different to a beehive) bc I want to be sure my blueberries get pollinated. I have a new boronia which will help with attracting them to the balcony but I want to make sure they do their thing well up there.
I'm probably going to try growing corn and peas. It's also getting closer to the time where I'll get my rock melon going (October)
I've been particularly nauseous lately so garden stuff has been really helping keep me sane. Even if all lighting makes me puke, I can fuss over my plants and be okay.
