the general update is that things still are a hot mess, and i sadly have not been able to find an affordable dental implant for the thing that keeps wigging me out mentally. and also my roommate is still a piece of work and now is pushing for "MY THERAPIST SAID I NEED A DOG OR I'LL DIE".
to which i go "oh. that sounds like a situation where your needs and the needs of the rest of the household might be at an incompatible impasse. how's the apartment search then?"
if the therapist is actually insisting on a dog for dire health needs (x to doubt) then it would surely be a service dog and they can't use that excuse for any puppy that looks cute on petfinder
what i think it is, is that they're doing the thing where THEY think they're representing the situation accurately, but in fact flattening the nuance down to what they THINK is the problem. and then probably taking the nuance of the therapist's words and doing the same in reverse. but also. YEAH.
