aka something fundamentally autistic LOL cuz then there wouldn't be any incentive to network and connections with people would rely primarily on what they decide to post

the privacy and safety concerns would be an issue but tbh i think it would encourage people to not post private information into public spaces like social media

reason i thought of this was cuz i stepped into bsky for a bit and immediately disliked that there wasn't a way to curate via private lists/feeds

i guess, essentially i just want to separate my social life from what i post online -- IS THAT EVEN A SOCIAL MEDIA AT THAT POINT LOLLLL

i like plurk's system for example and even pixiv's private follow system but i straight up don't like that public follows are still even a thing. i fr believe it only promotes neurotic behavior and has no benefits besides maybe giving shy people a way to make connections (?)

once again i stand on my "the internet was better when community was on irc and forums" soapbox

discord is extremely niche and private, and reddit lacks having any sort of "personal feed"/status posting, it's only conversational (traditional forums circumvented this by just making their own art threads and posting updates in it)
