I don't normally drink much tea, but it felt like tea weather today so I made some Earl Grey

I forget how long it takes to make things from scratch sometimes... I made butter bean stew from dried beans and it pretty much took the entire afternoon

Butch got a diabetes diagnosis...

I wonder if it's from the medication he'd taken or it could be the food, as the hydrolyzed diet is high in carbs...

really tired today

I suppose I'm still stressed and worn out from yesterday

there were a couple others I wanted, too, but like I didn't want to spend too much on them...

feeling nervous about tomorrow... I'm worried Butch's procedure could be a lot more than I anticipated and also I worry about him being okay afterwards...

there's a chance he may have to spend the night at the vet hospital, but I'll have to wait and see

Away from home all day now I just need to take a shower and get to bed asap

I wanted to nap so bad around mid afternoon I was totally zoned out

got Butch a glucose sensor, but he already popped it off... I feel so stressed and out of it... idek...

woke up with a headache... I think I got dehydrated yesterday walking around the park/gardens, it got a little hot

Butch seems to be acting ok, at least, after everything he went through yesterday

saw a baby kitten, just a little guy, accompanying the stray cat I usually feed... I didn't put a trap out right away because I figured I'd scared him off when I went outside, but he came back

I put a trap out so... hopefully he does come back. poor wee guy.

I'm guessing he's right at the age when he can leave his mom, but he still looks so young... maybe they got separated prematurely

I was going to put him in an old dog crate, but it’s apparently disappeared I dunno where to put him other than the trap

I'm pretty wound up now... but I have to wake up early so I should try to go to bed soon

also friday I may have to wake up early to take Butch to the veterinary college which I'm not thrilled about, it's a long-ish drive

soooo may be taking some naps cuz I can never seem to get to bed early

have to figure out what to do with little kitten tomorrow. I need to get a crate for him. hopefully he's easily tamable.

Butch is having low blood sugar levels so I'm worried about him...

it's gone up a little bit, so I hope he gets back to normal soon

he acts fine, so if he didn't have the glucose monitor I wouldn't even know

it's the first day of fall and it's already cool out

hoping to take the kitten to the vet tomorrow, he's having some issues with bloody urine it looks like... probably has an infection

I just hope it's nothing serious

ok I spent too much money on Night Arcade merchandise and also bought a sleepy Cubone plush...

I think I figured out what food I should get for Butch, but it'll be expensive... probably not much more pricey than the vet food, or it might even be the same price, but hopefully what I pick will control his allergies

I should really eat dinner, but I snacked too much so I think I may just take a shower and get ready for bed...

I need to wake up early in case I need to drop the kitten off at the vet

vet opens at 7:30 so I should be ready in case they call

tired, only slept about six hours last night... didn't even get up when my alarms went off, just went back to sleep

I made two calls today about Butch's new insulin prescription and it's still not ready

I guess I'll have to call again... also Butch's libre2 is being weird, but it shows his blood sugar is going down, which can happen when one misses their insulin... the vet said I could skip giving it too him last night, since it isn't working well for him, so I did and he hasn't had any today, either.

it's worrying...

have to make more phone calls today because the prescription status is still not showing up on-line...

I asked the vet yesterday if they called it in and they said they did, even gave the time, so idek

Butch's libre2 isn't working right still, either... it's sort of working and giving me some readings, but not working like it should...

at least Butch is acting okay...

I feel bad he has to wear a little sweater so he can't pick at his glucose monitor... he licks at the sweater and has sort of torn up parts of it because he wants to groom himself

I'm normally against putting clothes on cats, but I really don't want the libre2 to pop off again...

I really wish the pharmacy had a way to contact them other than phone, because sometimes they don't answer...

OKAAY I got that figured out.. apparently they sent in the prescription under Butch's name and I didn't know that so I kept asking for the prescription status under my name

idk why they did that... and they didn't tell me what name, even...

oh well... at lest it's done and I can get his prescription now

going to the grocery store and getting the prescription was stressful, it just felt like it took forever...

okay, now the new Libre2 has stopped working and needs to be replaced... he's only had it since last Friday so it barely lasted a week...

it's supposed to be good for 14 days...

I'll have to go to Walmart to get a glucose reader and strips to test his blood sugar before he gets his insulin...

Walmart is supposed to have the cheapest reader and it's apparently accurate

at least I can take off Butch's sweater, I felt bad having him wear it... but new it doesn't matter if he pops the glucose monitor off

I am not having much luck with getting prescriptions filled... I could have taken Butch to another vet to get a Libre2 put on, but when I got to the pharmacy they said it wasn't available

I really want to go to bed...

and I probably shouldn't have bought any autumn mix because now I'll want to eat it all the time

ordered some Halloween stuff I wanted... I'll be ready to decorate when it's actually October

if I can get up early enough tomorrow I'll go to target to check out their spooky stuff... I don't wanna go during the Saturday rush, though

I got Butch's blood tested for the second time and I think I know how to get it to go a bit more smoothly... though it's hard to not also prick my own finger in the process...

not sure when I'm supposed to get Butch's glucose sensor reattached...

they're supposed to send me a free replacement, but that could take 3-5 days so idk if I should just do monitoring myself until the replacement arrives or just buy him a new one if I can get it attached sooner...

I bought some stuff rom cvs specifically because I had some gift cards to use and then I goofed up at the checkout and didn't use them

or rather I had one gift card I could use, because the other doesn't have any money on it for whatever reason ???

oh well... at least I got some Halloween candy...

I want to get a stuffed animal storage thing so I have a place to put them, maybe I can get one that's not expensive...

I used to have a toy net and some other storage thingies, but idk where they are

I need to get better at getting blood from Butch... he can be SO patient, I feel bad it takes several pricks to get a spot where enough blood comes out...

I noticed the skin around his ears where he's scratched isn't really looking better, so I'm going to have to contact the vet. I was told he may need oral antibiotics if it doesn't clear up

problem is when I put the medicine on his ears he scratches them more and bleeds, so the wounds don't heal...

he might need a cone... idk

I'll be changing his diet soon so I hope that will take care of the itching... and be good for his blood sugar...

still hate calling the pharmacy... idk why it has to be so difficult for Butch to get another Libre2

idk when the replacement will come in the mail, said between 3 and 5 days so idk if I should just wait for it?

and I feel bad I'm not great at getting Butch's blood for the glucose meter... and I hope I'm giving him his insulin correctly, since it's a pen and it's harder to see if the needle goes in properly

ok I just sent the vet that's taking care of him an email because I figured it'd be easier than calling... hopefully I'll get a response sooner than later

I always feel like someone will get mad at me for emailing them, tho, idk
