THIS IS.... emergency patch ..... I think # 5?
EA's spaghetti code is truly coming back to haunt them
One thing fixes, another 4 breaks
So many are getting error codes on top of error codes
Like critical failure error codes
Saves are getting corrupted or deleted
Game crashes and failed saves
Infinite load screens between traveling, or CAS, or ...... just to get to the main menu
I was chatting with a friend from Pax Dei and we were comparing how smooth this Alpha Early Access was running compared to AAA(A) titles from other dev companies like ???
How come these guys are doing it right and these other multi-million dollar companies can't find their butts from their own servers
Pax Dei lacks content, sure. But it's playable and a smooth experience at that
I was in an event over the weekend with 70 people in a small room
Meanwhile trying to load a save on the sims and my game stutters into oblivion
Yes, I took out mods. Yes, I reinstalled from the ground up. But even people without any mods ever are experiencing these issues
So I finally finagled it enough to get it to work
I had to transplant the Sims I cared about into a new save, new house, new everything but same Sims
I backed up my saves folder
I didn't want to lose the Sims (my save they were from is 100% corrupted at this point and we're just trying to salvage what we can from it) because they are 30 years into a 700 year challenge lmao
30 isn't a lot but it's been HaRd OKay??
Before I load the game each time, I back up my saves
Because honestly, this game can't be trusted
A new patch will mean more broken mods and PROBABLY more broken game in general
The last patch didn't fix what was promised and now I can't enter CAS sometimes
It's a genuine hit or miss. Sometimes I can, sometimes I get infinite loading screens
But I'm not kidding or exaggerating when I say I literally haven't been able to play in a month thanks to this damned update they did
I just want to play with my pixelated barbies ffs
I'm turning updates off until I know it's "safe"
I mean it's not safe right now anyways, but it's more okay than 3 weeks ago and who knows what will break this time
