supposedly there was a link and bucky is now a congressman??
listen i don't know shit about any of the rest of these characters i don't care about any of them
i'm just gonna. i have shrimp emotions about this
i'm not inherently against the idea, like it's not the first time there's been implication that bucky could go into politics, hell, it's not the first time in the MCU he's been shown to do it
it just still feels fucking WEIRD lol
like, on one level I kinda like it, because Bucky's so fucking tired of violence and fighting, but he'd still want to do good things for the world, so it's a reasonable choice
but on another level it just FEELS wrong lol
my "well i can kinda see it, objectively" sense is crashing hard into my "BUT I KINDA CAN'T??" sense
i wasn't even gonna open any of this stuff today i'm busy with stuff at work but like four people sent it to me so
i am sure having some kind of feeling about it
I will grant the guy on Reddit who said "It's a little too realistic for them to put the 107 year old guy in Congress" that was fucking funny, you are a funny guy
honestly i can't even argue with the arm in the dishwasher, bucky is. not the best at his own hygiene
even in the comics people joke about him being greasy lol
I mean
it's probably the best way to get the damned thing cleaned quickly.
It feels weird, I'm not...bothered by it? Vaguely confused lol
but then again there's a reason whenever i start a new game with Bucky, I pull him from directly after the helicarriers go down in the Winter Soldier movie, because a lot of the fun is watching how he develops in whatever strange new world he's shown up in
in this one he's uh. he's in congress
...is it weird i am mostly asking myself which state he represents
no. that's a good question.
well, mycroft will be happy
like you'd think it's New York but then again he might have moved to Louisiana with Sam, but then he could have gone back home to Iowa, i think is the state he was born in
oh god that just set off the hissing at the back of my head
i mean in one of season 2's What If's they showed that Bucky not only went into politics but that he eventually wound up in the position Alexander Pierce had in the canon universe (except you know minus HYDRA)
and again for a man with a compulsion to do good but with a desire to get the hell away from actual physical violence, it's a reasonable choice
and also a...slightly biting commentary that a man who literally caused like twenty international incidents a decade previous and low key the end of the world after that got voted into congress
but the other part that has my attention is that it kind of looks like Bucky doesn't get physical until late in the movie, and spends the first half or so as more of like, spying, gathering information, which does make me happy
because people always forget that Bucky was also a spy
Everything gets narrowed down to "ohh scary assassin bad man" but there's a dozen tie-in books and comics (which admittedly only the severe nerds like me read) showing missions where he got programmed to go and spy/report back/etc.
literally spent two weeks milling around this one town feeling weird about it until he got his data and left
so i am low key excited to see him getting to show that off possibly
the hair symbolism is also kinda nice, it's not the "fuck it shave it all off" haircut from FATWS but it's also not the "i'm in recovery and don't care" long hair
kind of a nice blend of the two showing he's making more deliberate choices of what to do with it
...anyway remember how i mentioned i wasn't even gonna be online much today because i'm busy with work, yeah, i just remembered that, SO
go check out Lab of Nature it looks great -runs off-
Puts all this info into my mouth
FINALLY SOME GOOD FUCKIN FOOOOD
See now I gotta sit here and go "Is this why Bucky's not with Sam anymore in Brave New World, is there going to be some kind of passing mention that Bucky's on the campaign trail because i cannot deal with that lol
