a note about me is that during my time away I got a shit ton of therapy and am doing much better than I was, but excuse me if I still talk about my brother/sil/nephew cause that shit sucks and I don't think I'll ever be really over it.

with the therapy in mind, I am much better about conflict resolution so um, really, if you need anything or have an issue, please holler at me, I want to make sure we're all having fun in this little space on the internet we've carved out for ourselves.

I have a maybe dumb question, what's 01 certification?

not dumb! washington state has different electrical licensing and it's actually the program that is supposed to be the "best in the country" as far as reciprocal training since the US does not have anything more universal than state licensing.

01 certification is a journeyman license that covers all other specialty electrical licensing on offer.

so for example, if I got my 07 license, I would be certified by the state to perform general electrical maintenance in residential/commercial settings only. with an 01 license I can do that along with anything else that might come up. I think there are currently like 14-15 specialty licenses in the state?

the 01 license requires 4000 hours 01 work under a permit and 4000 hours of anything else, so I could submit 07/ 04a/09 work for that and still get my proper hours under my apprentice card.

it's taken me a long time to get my hours because under state law, marine/aero/locomotive hours do not count because they are not regulated by the NEC and I mostly do marine electrical on barges, tugs and fishing vessels.
