10 years... This series has gone on for 10 years
holy shit, is it over????
Compared to other shonen series, this series is mid length... You can probably finish it in a few weekends
And the anime is on the final arc too... I don't know if they'll do it all in one go or take a break, then finish the rest
AHHH I'M GONNA MISS HORI'S ART
If I was still passionate about drawing, I would've been making some Boku Hero sketches no joke
I like how he makes some cartoony over-the-top looking characters, but he's not afraid to draw them with some grit and realism... You really see Hori's style shine in the fights
why does Jirou look like she's leaning her head on Momo's shoulder
and not afraid to have characters break bones or lose limbs
Tyranno: because you're drinking yuri juice... She's just looking forward lol
LET ME DRINK MY YURI JUICE D:<
I have some mixed opinions on the ending, but overall... I like it
Some people are overblowing it as fandom does while others are pretty chill with it
The ending is very conclusive, yet if Hori (god forbid) wants to make a sequel then there's enough content for that
I'm surprised that they went "Deku becomes Quirkless again and become a teacher" route
I thought he'd kept the embers of OfA but that was a very bold choic
I wish we got to see more of teacher Deku since it looks like he's satisfied with encouraging people, but still unhappy since he can't hang with his friends and help people more directly
I think that's where some of the mixed feelings lie... HE FALLS OUT OF TOUCH WITH EVERYONE FOR EIGHT YEARS???
I guess they're all being busy adults (and the reason is revealed later) but still
NICE CALLBACK
as someone who is only vaguely familiar with MHA that is kinda sad but it's a bittersweet kinda thing i g
I think my other small issue is that Deku has done SO MUCH to help change hero society and ESPECIALLY in the final war, but he's treated more like a myth that inspired people to help others than getting a statue or something like All Might
honestly, I think I like this sort of ending compared to the Babies Ever After that Bleach and Naruto got
it's bittersweet, but it's also kind of realistic too
So he's not as worshipped as Bakugou or Shouto have been and it makes sense since Deku is a humble person and he only wants to help people and not do it for the fame but still...
(although your right in that it's sort of crappy that this is what he's reduced to after doing everything he did back then too
)
At least he gets a power suit for his troubles (which reflects what Hori wants to do for him in the first place)
BakuDeku fans will very very happy about him being the one who pushed for Deku's new power suit
I've been reading this since it first dropped in Jump and haven't stopped! So it's pretty bittersweet to see it end since I thought it wouldn't end...
Urameshi: YEAH... I liked that Hori had decided to go deep into how society has changed after the final war since most manga don't really do that
It's usually "They beat the bad guy and that's the end!" But MHA shows how life goes on and certain have improved and others have stayed the same
and also AGREED... Mad kudos for Hori not kneeling to the fanbase and pairing everyone up to make some fans happy and other fans not. He mainly focused on the good and bad of post-final war stuff
Hope he takes a long rest from manga since he said that the western base had been giving him grief along with the usual stresses of being a mangaka <_>
I wish all mangaka a very "please take care of yourself and rest"
I hope Oda finishes One Piece before something happens since a lot of people are worried for him too
Thankfully, we're on the final saga and I can see it ending within 7 years... Oda says it will end in 5 years, but he has underestimated his dates before
AND another thing I've thought about... I wonder if discrimination against Quirkless people have changed due to Deku's actions since he technically beat AfO without one and he can join in hero activities with a power suit
That was something that just clicked in my head since it was going one of my other issues with the ending: Deku still needing a Quirk to do heroic things when one of the big themes of the series is: You don't need superpowers to help people, just stick a hand out to act for those in need
ANYWAY... This improves the ending more with that in mind
Hope Hori gets to draw that horror manga he's been itching to make after he takes a long break since this man can draw and write some beautiful fuckedupness... But I could tell that he had to rein some of that in due to WSJ limitations
One endgame couple was confirmed
"Metin, they're just holding hands... Kota is just taking Eri to school with him--"
but hear me out!! Eri and Kota were both saved and influenced by Deku so it would make sense that they would hit it off!!
It's the cutest toy ship lemme have it
