okay so yeah, it's already been a fuck off a month, between the many financial demands and also surgery prep

but TODAY i get a call from a hospital in FL, and apparently my dad got picked up driving, "confused."

so, things is, the family does not like him. i am the only one of his bio kids that speaks to him, and he has explicitly disowned my mom's pre-him son

but we've all kind of known SOMETHING was gonna happen eventually.

so now it's not only navigating surgery and recovery, but also navigating the social care network and the VA, and also navigating the low key expectation people have that I'll drop everything to go see him
