it's... weird, right?
like, there is this incredibly sobering effect of seeing an assassination attempt on a US presidential candidate, seeing pictures of blood splattered across his face
and the mood is not, like... "shrug", but... it is nothing i predicted when i first heard the news
and i was sure that i was reading the room wrong, or reading the wrong rooms, but, yeah
i had a whim the other day that was like "what if this actually hurts him"
like, his M.O. being turning up the heat, but this might be the point a bunch of people go "whoop, nope, too hot in here actually"
might not last. people have short memories.
i do think there woulda been a polling bump if the shooter was a manifesto-writing card-carrying antifa hardliner
but, as has been described, he fits the profile of "school shooter" more than "political extremist"
could be a pretty good reminder that violence is random and unpredictable! and those who were flirting with the idea of 'yeah, civil war, that might be dope" realize that all war is hell actually
