on the first sundays of the month, the art museum is pay-what-you-want
the likely wont want to go to the 'burbs and will want to stay in the city proper. They also dont drink so nothing thats super dependent on alchohol
Isn't the Liberty Bell museum/monument free?
but it's a lot of outside time too
wander around the fashion district mall for a bit
the Fiber Arts museum was neat and cheap
and it's around the corner from Reading Terminal Market
wonderspaces is technically not in the suburbs!
wonderspaces is in the mall and also not super cheap
Wonderspaces is in the mall
its an art gallery that focuses on video and installation art
they do have the garbage clock which is the only piece of video art i like
mmm ill have to look into it. my mom and dad are not modern art fans
much of it is pretty interactive, and it's in a mall in center city so it's all pretty normie friendly
deffo a "you can take your mom here" vibe
okay cool, ill look into it
Independence Hall is near the Liberty Bell, and there are timed tours! I’m fairly sure that it’s free. You can also go to the nearby Visitor’s Center to get packages that make a lot of other visits really cheap. Betsy Ross’ home (the woman that sewed the first American flag? Not 100% sure is also in the area, and tourable!
You can get a one-day pass for the double-decker red busses that go in a loop and get on and off wherever you want in the circle.
While the transportation is outdoors, there are a number of indoor activities around it, and you can also listen to the tour from the bottom, inside deck of the bus.
my mom loves the betsy Ross house. I looked at apartment literally around the corner from it and she was disappointed I didn't choose that one lol
Wagner Free Institute of Science is just bonkers
What if we collected just all the natural science samples and crammed them into one hall
Oh gdi, their website says the building isn't air conditioned :/ I went in the spring so it wasn't noticeable
if its not air conditoned then it shouldnt be busy then
