I'm looking forward to them! I love raids and usually I like doing the raids and optional dungeons before post patch stuff but unfortunately a lot of people in one of my friend circles (no one here on plurk) who are uh. incredibly super spoiler happy so I'm trying to stay ahead of them 🥴

but congrats on finishing msq in time for the new stuff! the EW raids will still be there, and they do things like moogletomes often enough to coax people into doing older raids.

i've not done eureka either! it was the stormblood relic weapon grind and i've been told it just hasn't aged well.

bozja (the shadowbringers one) is apparently a more polished version of it. i LOVED bozja but i can't comment on how it plays now that it's not current content.

unless you mean eurka orthos, which is the endwalker deep dungeon (like palace of the dead / heaven on high)

it's kind of… meant to be an 11 throwback? you want to chain enemies for exp and drops… I think mostly people kill mos to get the next big boss up? at least for the first zone, I haven't really been past it…

and yeah, prep parties are where it's at but you can usually find a group pretty easily in area chat

the aetherial wheel looks complex but it really isn't, it's just pokemon except you're the pokemon and you use it to shift what element you're strong in

yeah, it's definitely better with a group. I'm just… in an awkward time zone for people (though I was invited to a good group the last time I went in!) and uhhhh how far others got ahead of me was kinda… not great

you can get it to do the shift automatically, too- there's a square/right click function for it, iirc

yeah, it's actually really straightforward once the "what am I looking at" wears off

one thing is that being far apart in levels will hurt exp, which I think is part of why people mostly focus on bosses. I'm not sure where that starts happening, though.

I've soloed eureka on 3 different characters because I am That Kind Of Person and honestly I find being in the areas really relaxing so hit me up if you do end up doing eureka and want help/just want someone to be in the area to raise you if needed

the good thing about it is that you can grind monsters a level or so above you solo using the aetherial bonuses so solo leveling is actually pretty straightforward

once you have your EXP boosts going, it's real fast

Once you get to the third area and you unlock the extra actions it's incredible fun to just fight things a level or two above you

Stock up on Potions of Harmony before you go in and use them whenever you get an Elemental bonus, it makes a pretty big difference!

So is it largely for leveling opportunities or does it have its own level system and is mainly for the relic grinding?

I've only done 1 arr relic weapon so I'm not sure how they are handled going forward

yeah. there're some other items and gear you can get, too, but afaik that's fairly rng

some of them are worth a mini fortune though if you're lucky enough.
