The best part is the evolution of the friendship between the two protagonists.
Yes, I need more TV shows to watch!
Also Fowler has a serious crush on Raphaëlle
I was writing a novel about an archivist's daughter. It was called The Archivist's Daughter.
Looks like I'll have to resort to the sneaky web
One of my lawyer friends says that archivists are simultaneously the weirdest and the most boring people he knows.
Sneaky is as sneaky does.
What happened to this novel. Was it weird?
PollyPaperclip: if you donate to your local PBS station, you should be able to get the PBS Passport streaming code that will let you watch all the Astrid episodes
pruememo: The other thing about this show is that it’s so funny, in a low-key way. Maybe it’s the French.
I need more time to watch more TV!
I am not watching enough TV!
And yes it is quite humorous in a quietly situational way.

TV is the new... well everything we used to do before TV basically.
CoyotePace: It’s weird that overseas markets are removing Raphaëlle from the title. The friendship between the two women is so integral to what makes the show good. Without it this would be a fairly average, and somewhat implausible, procedural.
Even though this has been on for number of years, I only ran across it entirely coincidentally, after watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo, which covers a bit of similar ground.
pruememo: I totally agree, and I’m almost afraid to ask why the title change was made.
Channel 4 in the UK is doing an English language remake which also just references the ‘Astrid’ character in the title.
CoyotePace: Maybe they were afraid it sounded too gay?
That was the afraid to ask part, yes
nods
Shades of Cagney and Lacey
I don’t know about an English remake; one of the charms of watching this for me is listening to the French (with subtitles, believe me!)
The impossibility of watching all the TV shows is stressing me out!
PollyPaperclip: Apparently wheat germ and raspberries will extend your lifespan.
And The Archivist's Daughter got cast aside for Amunet of Alexandria which is also dead in the water.
Looks like an English-language version of Astrid et Raphaëlle is in the works.
"... a tandem of heroines, one of whom is autistic and the other completely unmanageable" lol
I just said that, Paperclip!
You know me: Once it crosses my synapses it's as good as forgotten.
haha. Your synapses are always pretty busy.
CoyotePace: We watched the first episode of
Extraordinary Attorney Woo last night and enjoyed it!
I envy youse and your supernatural multiviewing capabilities!
Basically 8pm to 10pm is Telly Time!
