coming back to this because it has occurred to me that VR Wrath (tm) was actually roughly the same age that he is in the CoS movie, because he was in Pokemon-land for a few years

so the contrast will be even more starkly different because he previously was what he could have been in canon... if the rest of canon hadn't happened.
