New York City Real Estate and Services Offered Listi... have you checked out listings project? it's how I found my room when I moved out here at somewhat short notice - they've got categories for both renting and subletting, and for both full apartments and individual rooms

I don't personally know anyone who's got a place to crash right at this second, but I had a lot of success finding a sublease that turned into a full lease at very short notice when my work wanted me out here
