It just occurred to me: Did the original artists of Lascaux imagine even for a second that their art would still be admired 17000 years later?
Does any artist aside from those who work in monumental metal or stone?
Someday someone will strip the paint in my childhood home and find my crayon doodles!
In 17000 years!
The art from that period is amazing (not just painting). I may fall down a rabbit hole here.
