and the problem is last hour of the day I'm working alone, so I'm behind the counter on the other side of the store so there's no way to grab the knife before they reach for it so I have to yell to get them to put it down

when I have another coworker here and I'm not behind the counter I'm usually able to just say "don't play with that" and that's enough

but these two apparently heard me yell "PUT THAT DOWN" multiple times and didn't react until their grandpa told them to

he said it in English too, so it wasn't that they didn't understand

(we're near a casino so we get a lot of international tourists)
