after the sirens go off, dean's going to go immediately into 'my subconscious is still in dad mode even tho it wasn't real' and probably focus on making sure Steve's good and Clarisse get through the portal, if Dai and Miyou are down for that vibe.

then the rest of his close cr, then civilians; basically he's not going through the portal until he sees everyone else get through first

aside from doing his off-brand mario kart tournament to keep people chill, I think at this point Jack has actually been studying magic for long enough to be useful trying to break the wards

I think with Istredd it's mostly strategy. He obviously doesn't agree with the Sidwells and what they did but he thinks putting distance between him and the new regime won't help his ability to help other Summoned/get Singularity research.

i think with sabine gone this is the era of him getting more heavily involved in the metaplot

because attacking ambrose randomly was the stupid emotion-driven move. getting involved to either a - find a way / get powerful enough to bring her back or b - be in a position to better fuck the system up or c - just having more control over himself/his friends and their safety is the smarter long term choice for him
