regular aelwyn i wouldn't actually say is particularly dominant? she seems that way but we find out that she's always a henchman first and foremost. whether it's penelope, her parents, kalina, or later adaine, aelwyn's always following someone else's example

in AH she wound up becoming a lot more headstrong and prone to taking initiative. very much "my way or the highway" because she was doing her best approximation of what a hero would do using penelope and adaine as her examples. but like mostly adaine. so it involved a lot of "this person is just so unambigiously cartoonish evil WHY don't we just kill them?"

a lot of this is "in theory". the most she does when she finds people are being irritating is be a dick to them. she has her moments of extremes but generally when dealing with others she's like, shy and antisocial at best, an abrasive asshole at worst.
