Early Access seems to be their version of "Beta" testing
The game is playable. I spent hours in it
As long as they let me, basically lmao
It's a sandbox mmo, that feels a bit like Wurm Online for better or worse
No class systems, very build oriented and exploration focused. But without the pesky starvation and sleep meters you'd get in survival games
I feel like we got bombarded by survival games in the last 6 months and while I found one I really love (Nightingale) one is enough
Pax Dei doesn't have QUESTS
So it doesn't have ...... scripted quests
You talk to NPC A, they complain of sheep going missing
You talk to NPC B, a hunter, who refuses to go into the forest beyond dusk because of strange sounds
That's how you piece together "quests"
It's rumor poking and prodding and you have to READ god forbid and puzzle things together yourself
WHICH sheesh it won't last because the community will have guides in no time
BUT you can ignore said guides and just do whatever for funsies, if you wanted to
And there's certainly a meme about clay at this point
Basically a lot of low tier crafting requires clay and it was quickly discovered that clay deposits were few and far between
So the devs added them within like... I think 5 hours of alpha starting? lol
And then there were clay nodes EVERYWHERE.
I'm sure they have found a sane amount of clay nodes by this point but it's still kinda funny
I have a key for early access, but they've warned that it will have wipes throughout as they polish the game but I'm kinda hopeful the end result will be worth it?
After early access they're planning to do a sub model, which I don't mind....
I don't like FF14's sub model because on TOP of subbing you also have to individually purchase DLC
Shouldn't I have access to the GAME if I am already paying you constantly for said GAME
So I am hopeful Pax Dei won't do that. Fingers crossed. DLC would be a long way out though since Early Access is expected to take a year+
Okay that sounds pretty fun
Sadly I am shit at piecing together quests so I will need to use guides at SOME point if I do this, but I can try to go in blind lmao
Yeah, I am going for blind until frustrating tactic lol
