I have worked in the IT field as either a code monkey or a BA for tge past 20+ years and now find myself in what is essentially a front line management position amd am struggling a bit with the day-to-day.

It's a small shop, and we all work remotely most of the time. EmaIl and meetings are minimal. We track work via kanban board, so that's trivial.

There just doesn't seem to be all that much actual work to do.

I guess you do the work to keep the team on track and find a mitigation of something goes off/doesn't work out etc... managing the problems, issues, and cooperation with other teams if there are any.
