Adam's geekitude is admirable.

Tritan plastic is pretty nice - I've got some containers made of it. I've seen complains about it in microwaves, but you'd best not microwave a tricorder, of course.

How much will it cost?
We’re aiming for a recommended retail price of $300 to $350 USD / £300 to £350 GBP. We appreciate this is expensive and much more expensive than our Star Trek Bluetooth® Communicator and Phaser, but...

... the Tricorder is the most complex product we’ve ever developed and, with its electronics, sensors, and authentic materials, it’s a much more expensive product to make.
