The first two episodes of The Acolyte is pretty good for an opener. Funnily enough it used up most of the trailer footage so there's still a lot of mystery in store. Mostly concerning the Sith MYSTERIOUS MASTER
It's not as gritty as Andor, but that's honestly a plus because this is a Jedi story, and we're not really supposed to be gritty with the Jedi. ...Unless it's KOTOR 2, which is honestly the exception that proves the rule
Squid Games dude- er, Master Sol- is honestly top tier Jedi already. In the same vein as Qui-Gon Jinn, tbh. The kind of Jedi that's definitely going to be sorely missed come the Clone Wars where no one's thinking clearly enough to realize "wtf why are we generals in an army"
SPEAKING OF, Goddamn is Ahsoka a lot more wooden acting than Acolyte. Which I will choose to interpret as "High Republic Jedi are more emotive than Order 66 survivors"
Vernestra is probably the woodenest acted, but I'm not sure if that isn't a deliberate "Yeah I'm old and on the council and we've all got sticks up our asses" character acting choice. If anything, Trinity- er- Master Indara is the closest to Ahsoka levels of acting. But that might just be further proof of just being "proverbial stick in the mud" characters
I'm a pretty strong enjoyer of Disney canon so YMMV the high republic is just a good timeline to play with because you really see how they're on the cusp of being the asshole Jedi of the prequels but they're not there quite yet
