[More Theater, But Also With Some Fun Thoughts]
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert continues to coalesce into a fun and entertaining show. But this isn't my usual plug. Not entirely, anyway...

One of the things the director has been doing at the end of rehearsals is picking cast members at random and asking them what their favorite part of the show is. He hasn't called on me yet, but if he does this is what I'm going to say:

My favorite part of the show is a number towards the end of the first act called "Color My World." Most of the songs in this show are dance hall/disco numbers from the 70s or early 80s, but this one isn't. It's a pop song released in 1966 by British singer/actress Petula Clark.

I don't exactly know why I like this song over the more well-known ones such as "I Will Survive" or "It's Raining Men" or even "Venus" (the latter of which has me as a featured dancer - you read that right). Maybe it's the slightly psychedelic tones of the music. Maybe it's how the song stands out in contrast to most of the other songs.

Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age... or maybe I'm just a sucker for three minutes of something simple and bright and happy in this dark and cynical world. I dunno, take a listen and tell me what you think:NEW * Color My World - Petula Clark {Stereo} 1966

Anyway, come see Priscilla at Forge Theater in beautiful Phoenixville, PA. For those busy with WanderLARP this weekend (and have a great time folks!), there are six shows running through the two weekends afterwards. Hope to see you there.
