One side is a delightful, fence jumping, avid outdoor enthusiast who can name every tree native to Virginia 75 year old
The other side is a cursing, gun weilding, max volume music blasting in your direction family. The father is on the sexual predator list!
This family dates its lineage back to the 1700s and is mentioned in Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe's letters between acquaintances. We live 6 miles from Monticello and 2 from Monroe's Highlands
The streets are named after this family
Gun wielding family's matriarch passed away briefly after we moved in. The family has decided to sell their 30 acre property and got a buyer pretty quick.
But things got muddled in the settlement and the buyer has allowed them to stay there during the settlement process as the family's initial plans to move fell through
For the last 3 weeks they have blasted and I mean blasted music from 6am to 10pm
The cops have been called multiple times for various things
Not just the last few weeks, mind you. They have a record. But the last few weeks have been bad
We have 3 acres and a good amount of woods between us and them and Our house vibrates with the volume of music
There's been cops called for gunshots, for black smoke (they don't have trash collection so they've been burning their trash), and child endangerment concerns. They have two kids
So today we get a call from the police department, surprise
They have orders to evict them. It stormed today so they'll be doing this in the morning
So they called to warn us that they'll be doing this early in the morning and asked us to stay inside in case things get ugly
WHICH IS JUST hello??? Why are they allowed guns what in the fucking hell. Do the cops like Challenge Mode or something?
I am sure there won't be much incident but good grief
They still have their kids so...
Idk, it's complicated with kids there
Yeah I just hope they're not going to be negatively impacted by this. Idk.
You can't walk away from a toxic home like that unscathed
I just hope they won't be homeless
Well yeah. Anyway. What I was trying to get at is I hope they get out alive
But hopefully nothing bad will happen
Or the kids can at least stay somewhere while the adults figure it out
That would be ideal, them staying elsewhere
We have construction people coming by tomorrow to turn an extra door to the house into a wall, but I think we're asking them to come another day or later in the day
Just so they aren't outsode if the police really think it's that dangerous
outside* rather. Phone woes
An ambulance just drove by to the neighbor's. No sirens at least
Ambulances, firetrucks, cops are like a weekly occurrence minimum for that household so I don't think the ambulance is a big deal, especially if it lacked sirens
But sheesh, just no peace
that doesn't mean much, the sirens are usually for when they're driving in areas where they need to warn people to get out of the way, and it sounds like there's a lot of space there
True, would the lights be on though despite that?
Cause it wasn't just no sirens but also no lights flashing either
now that part I don't know
I know they can have the lights on without the siren though
Ya, they've come by with lights without sirens going. This time neither
Hopefully it's nothing urgent
I have heard of stories where they turn the lights and sirens off so as not to alert the people in the house if they are coming up on a Situation
But that's usually for police, and on the rare side I think
Not sure about ambulances
No idea how the ambulance situation went but just got a Follow up from the cops they're on their way
Construction guys are here anyway
And the foreman was like "I used to be special ops marine corp, Don't you worry." when I warned him
Sir I don't want a wild west shoot out next to my house pls no
I am home alone with only the pets so just gonna keep the critters inside and keep an eye out
if he gets your house shot at, he's responsible for fixing it, tbh
Luckily, things were uneventful! There was some vibrant yelling and arguing but otherwise fine
I found out that Yes, there was an emergency with the ambulance. The lights were off because of the type of road we're on and the timing since it was passed midnight. Our road doesn't have streetlights and it's one lane
The father of the family is in the hospital and he's the one with the violent temper that the police were concerned about
So would it have gone so smoothly if he was home? Who knows. But it went great without him present.
While I hope he is well, I'm also glad he wasn't present
but yeah hopefully he'll be fine, even if he's a jerk or whatever
interesting to know about the ambulance
