I am not drunk enough for this
yeah that was one of the first things I saw when I woke up and I was just "....it's too early for this"
Even at 5 or 6, they should be able to understand that. 15??
In the same thread I said 'No, people are usually able to make that distinction at 5 at the earliest.
/looks at teenage son, looks at this comment
the kiddo better understands this than some adults I've known, idk what this person is on
unless that teen is some form neurospicy, yeaaah
if the teen is that different that they struggle with such a distinction their parent should be doing more to like. parent. them. bout not being fucking rude to human beings
They're way past the age of not being able to tell that an actor is their character
are Twitter babies coming for Joel AGAIN
I'm so glad he's got balls of steel rn
And yeah like '15?? I could tell an actor wasn't his character by then"
Am reminded of that ep of Mr Roger's Neighborhood when they had to make an episode of the Wicked Witch of the West out of character because kids were scared. THAT WAS KIDS. Not teenagers!
The future, ladies and gentlemen
sample size of one, but at that size, my neurodivergent ass absolutely knew actors were not their characters? like god damn i know the education system is failing in america but i feel like it has to be an intentional bit of fooling yourself or SOMETthing at that point
my son's also neurodivergent and so are a lot of this friends. they can all distinguish between the two
they stuggle with social cues, not separating fiction from reality
I feel this is just OP infantilizing teenagers... but it was still so stupid a case that I couldn't suffer alone
i said size instead of age and in my defense i just woke up... wow way to proofread
yeah no at that age people definitely know better if they're taught halfway decently
understandable. I'm on favor of being kind to youngsters just learning their way in the world but infantilizing them isnt kind, it's pretty cruel tbh
it leaves them unprepared for dealing with the harsher aspects of reality
I'm all for 'protect the kids' but I'd like to say you can start making sure the kid can transition to adjusting in the real world before they hit 10. And that involves making sure they can distinguish reality from fantasy.
Let kids be kids is fine but Kids also have to learn how to function as adults and part of that is learning Real Vs. Fun hobbies and fictional things (Movies/shows/books/what have you) And adults especially online from what I've seen really need to stop this "But they're just kids" at 15+ year olds when they say creepy weird shit - the non-neurospicy ones
know exactly what they're saying and sure maybe it's for the memes and to be edge lords or whatever but it's still wildly creepy/inappropriate and should be corrected by adults so they learn
HA? I mean, I've always know that Megumi Ogata wasn't Kurama. She's... a girl to begin with.
I would be concerned if a teenager thinks that Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool
looking into it more, the person was 29. they were not even a teenager.
your frontal lobe is already formed... you have an adult brain and yet
the OP this person was replying to has deleted their entire account
probably got ratio'd so much they had to
