just saw a post somewhere where somebody was like "my landlord eventually let me bring my ESA with my to my new apartment, but now he's saying that if I ever leave my ESA alone that I'm in violation and he'll evict me???" which is a fucking TERRIBLE situation

and every comment is something like "IF THEY'RE A REAL DISABILITY ASSISTANT THEN SHOULDN'T YOU NEED TO BRING THEM EVERYWHERE????"

"YOU'RE THE ONE PRETENDING THIS IS REQUIRED SO NOW YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT, BABY"

and like.... no????

1. that's a terrible situation you're trying to act smugly condescending over
2. ESA aren't exactly 1:1 the same as a fucking guide dog

if you have depression, your pet cat might be the only thing that keeps you from contemplating suicide,
and that cat is then an ESA
that doesn't mean you need it by your side 24/7

ESPECIALLY since people when you go out ARE GONNA DO THE SAME DAMN THING when you say it's an ESA

and make your life difficult

Also, like... a lot of places probably won't allow someone to bring their emotional support animal with them, because of pretty much exactly this kind of viewpoint.
