It has my name on it not someone else's so it's at least not identifiable to a specific person
But uh 1) I am not a patient of this doctor's 2) my first appointment with another doctor at this practice is two weeks away 3) the paperwork has results of a blood draw I definitely did not take
Someone has hypothyroidism, among other things
Oh that's... better at least
That there's no name on it, but HOO
My medical anxiety is high enough that I keep thinking "what if I did do a blood draw for this doctor I never met and just forgot about it?????"
WOOF they scanned someone's things into your chart possibly......
soozaphone: does it count as a HIPAA violation without the original pt's contact info? Or is it just a sparkling fuck up
Sparkling fuckup, I think!! If there's enough PII it's Hipaa- name, DoB, Record number, etc
But if it's essentially anonymized than it's just a big ol whoopsie medical error
LMAO I JUST GOT A CALL FROM THE ADMIN
Turns out this is just a wildly stupid way of submitting lab requests
Even though it says stuff like....abormal finding of blood chemistry, hypothyroidism, etc, and has every appearance of being the RESULT of a lab panel
Apparently the paperwork is just done this way because that's how it displays the codes for the testing facility to know what to test
They sent it to me so I can get the panel done in advance of my physical so we can discuss results then
They mentioned this when I scheduled the appointment but there is NO explanatory paper in the mailed packet I got, it's just several pages of this
And it's under the other doctor's name because it apparently doesn't really matter as far as testing goes since they're all the same practice
Ohhhhhh my god it's just covered in the icd-10 codes
LMAO YEAH OK THAT MAKES MORE SENSE..... That's how I get radiology orders tooz they have to put a diagnosis for insurance to agree to pay for it
And insurance doesn't like you to put "rule out xyz"
Like if I'm scanning a brain with suspicion for Multiple Sclerosis they will straight up put "multiple sclerosis" on the order despite it being a question because otherwise insurance gets fighty
It also tells me exactly what sequences they need run, but it doesn't get put down as a diagnosis on the chart
Usually if it's something they hand to the patient they only use the codes like M64.2 ksgsgs
I was a little worried that it was somehow displaying the results of the draw I did for them like a year and a half ago, but it also lists "micturition" on it and I did not have a pee problem so that didn't make sense either
It makes sense on the back end but not.... Inviting anyone not involved with the back end of the testing
Idk why they wouldn't have sent a cover letter with "TAKE THIS TO THE LAB TEST SITE" on it
YEAH LIKE TELLING YOU WHAT IT IS.... SEEMS IMPORTANT ...
ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAS MULTIPLE LISTINGS OF ABNORMAL BLOOD CHEMISTRY
LMAJDHHZJS god medical codes and billing are so arcane
Last time my doc called me and over the phone was like vitamin D a little low so maybe take a vitamin pill, cholesterol a little high so perhaps eat less cheese and red meat
Surely she would have mentioned multiple other abnormal blood chem results!!!!!
But I was worried she had neglected that somehow!!!!
Despite the different date
It also shows what I interpreted as the date of the blood draw but is apparently the date they generated the paperwork
