I knew he was suppressing his cultivation to not level up because of fears of being a target and wanting to be a side character

but to go from basic to golden core at once is kind of hilarious

like

you have been struggling and running for your life in fear of raising flags and not wanting to be a protagonist

and maybe could have made some of this easier if you had just leveled up normally

but then, most the tragedy is being avoided because he's making such dumb choices based on being genre savvy rather than being logical.

this is a really good series

if you like cultivation stories, comedy, and action

it does the silly and serious stuff well.
