I think it's because most people use a pirated version of PS (I do)

I actually bought affinity but it actually requires time to learn because it's not similar to PS's arrangement of tools at all. it's in profiles. So it's like editing profile, selecting profile, etc etc instead of your tools all out in the open

Iirc the profiles are called Personas, my bad.

I suspect it's designed that way because it's also on the iPad, so it's less cluttered?

I think checking YouTube is a good idea, both for reviews and also to see if there's a strong community of tutorials, plug ins etc

Oooooooooooooh OKAY COOL I was reading stuff but it was mostly those techy websites so it was all super brief and not super helpful but this is much more useful
