One of my lymph nodes has been swollen for months so we will likely be getting a ct scan
Going through the laundry list of family health woes took up most of the appt time, as one does
I saw a nurse practitioner and she was really nice and also lol easily side tracked
I had to mention China because ~where are the health records~ came up and then she was just really curious about China's batshit health care system
The re-telling of The Great Appendicitis Discovery (Chronic Edition) certainly would make any person in the medical field's jaw drop lmao
But she was seemingly really on top of stuff, so that was great to be honest
I mentioned the lymph node issue and I very much expected her to be like Oh, probably fine but she was like
Checks notes
No, we should probably make sure it's not a tumor
ty ma'am for making it easier on meeee
WE ALSO GOT a Referral <-pretend there are like sparkles around the word
For an RA doctor. Although she warned me that it could take up to a year
I'm in remission so it's NO BIG DEAL right now, but also getting into the system sooner than later is likely best
Because as I learned 6 years ago, remission is fleeting and recovery takes months and months if it goes unchecked for too long
We also did ~BLOOD WORKS~ <more rainbows
And the results just came back, holy potatoes that was quick
AND I MEAN I'm no doctor buuuuuut
Hello, anemia my old friend.
Basically all the iron necessary things are low low low so I have a feeling that I'll get a phone call Monday or Friday to go back on iron things whiiiiiiiiich sucks
But with my ridiculous allergies, what can ya do
But one thing that went well with the blood work is my liver is okay for the moment (I think?) so mayyyyyybe anxiety medicine in the future?
The issue is a lot of anxiety meds go through your liver and before it was like DON'T TOUCH THE LIVERrr
But now maybe we are okay enough to try??
BUT FOR A FIRST VISIT this was good
small update: Doing an ultrasound instead of ct scan and it's happening on Thursday which I'm pretty happy about. I was worried it would be a month or more out
So my doctor did an iron test on the blood sample
And my iron count is actually high, but so is the TIBC
So high TIBC (according to google) means anemia
But high iron means ....... NOT anemia???
So instead I might actually have (according to WebMD, our most reliable source) hemochromatosis
CAN'T WAIT FOR MY DOCTOR TO CALL TOMORROW oh boyyyyy
So the treatment for hemochromatosis is LITERALLY BLOOD LETTING oh fan fucking tastic
