Psst, the original Kid Pix has become part of the public domain. Enjoy this in-browser Javascript version. https://images.plurk.com/4p4xu4C0dKep2WnXFjlkEZ.png

If you want to clear the canvas, click the eraser, then the dynamite, and blast the screen! Epilepsy warning for flashing and high contrast patterns, buuut they're also very slow, so it's probably safe for most, turn down the brightness of the screen to be safe, or use a different way to erase things. ^^

I actually have some of my original childhood kid pix drawings preserved in a folder somewhere that my dad got off an old floppy a while back

<333 Awww, I want to see! Lucky... I never played the original Kid Pix, I had Kid Pix Deluxe (and was always jealous of how many awesome stamp sets were Mac-only, from seeing them in the manual, ffff.)

I’ll see if I can find the folder when I get home! The funniest/most baffling part is the file names. Like, I clearly wouldn’t have been old enough to type those myself but they aren’t the sort of names an adult would give something so someone must’ve transcribed my titles for me?

Like I think one is called something like “the cakeiest cake of my life” and is just a collage of cake stamps???

Lovely!!! (Oh, I should correct the plurk, the original Kid Pix was always public domain and intended to be, given Hickman made it because he saw his then-3-year-old son struggling with MacPaint, so he wanted to make a free art software that's easy for kids to use. ;3; ) His friends encouraged him to sell to Broderbund and the rest are copyrighted!
oho, how handy
