this one is Not That Deep i prommy
but man i lost the hat my mom made me and now i keep thinking about how she's been still having a hard time w knitting after the stroke and. weh.
by all accounts from my dad she's still getting better, like, not wholly linearly and sometimes when i call i still get the version of her that's not all herself
and if the worst thing is that she can't knit two handed we got off so light obv. idk. it is also Very possible that her difficulty is bc the house is so cold its hard to do much in the winter
i will go look at adaptive stuff for one handed knitting bc SURELY that exists and feel better
try some lace or mesh fingerless gloves
i used to wear the mesh kind when i lived in mammal's house and the front apt was like 60F at night
i think they keep it a bit warmer now but it was regularly 50f in the house and real knitted fingerless gloves did v little
it's mostly just that her right hand was the worst problem from the stroke i think
damn that's cold as hell for indoors and an older person tho
the mesh made my palms sweat so if knitted didn't do it yeesh
i think my dad said theyre doing closer to 60 now but. yeah i spent the last four or five winters in that house Very Cold
fingerless gloves, three layers on top, sometimes sweatpants + fleece lined leggings
is there any chance your hat is in a lost and found somewhere? :c
like on "house was badly insulated and we didn't have the money to keep it any warmer"
called the one for the rail also but i cant check the one for the bus i rode til monday
ahh, okay, that makes sense
that also sounds like mammal's house... i ended up sectioning off the living room with a giant heavy curtain bc it was a wide open doorway into the rest of the house
i think i used command hooks and a long dowel from the hardware store
then got toasty with a heater
