no, it isn't. lots of violence and brutality, at least 3 (peripheral) rape scenes, lots of foul language, some implied cannabalism, etc

the whole point of the movie is its indomitable undercurrent of hope and faith, but it requires a high degree of maturity to recognize that

i'm glad you liked it. i went again with my dad and was pleased (but not surprised) to find that it still holds up. and my dad liked it too.

will go with my husband this weekend. sounds like a great film.
