I would like to buy a flashing neon sign that points at lesson instructions so my students will read them before asking their questions.

When kids come up and say "I don't know how to do this." I ALWYAS make them read the directions out loud to me.

Most times they pause half way through and say..."Oh."

I will often ask them "What part don't you understand?" If they say "Everything" I ask them to list "everything."
